Passing On Outdoor Skills
Millions of parents and kids participate in free workshops at Bass Pro Shops. We offer family-friendly activities year-round so everyone can gain the confidence they need to enjoy outdoor adventures regardless of skill level. Events like Family Summer Camp and Gone Fishing have inspired countless camp outs and fishing trips.
Wonders of Wildlife
The all-new Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium is the world's foremost conservation attraction. Primarily funded and operated by the nonprofit Johnny Morris Foundation and located adjacent to Bass Pro Shops flagship store in Springfield, Missouri, Wonders of Wildlife consists of an all new 1.5 million gallon aquarium adventure showcasing 35,000 live fish, mammals, reptiles and birds, and an immersive wildlife museum that brings visitors eye-to-eye with the greatest collection of record-setting game animals ever assembled. The 350,000-square foot experience celebrates the critical role hunters and anglers play in wildlife conservation.
The Wonders of the Ozarks Learning Facility (WOLF) School is a national model for outdoor education. Located inside our National Headquarters in Springfield, Missouri and operated in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation and Springfield Public Schools, the WOLF School educates and inspires future conservation leaders by offering fifth-grade students a full curriculum based on nature and conservation.
Partnering with Youth Groups
We partner with dozens of local nonprofits in urban areas across the U.S. that connect new audiences to the outdoors – with more than 250,000 items donated to youth-focused nonprofits in the past five years.
Vamos a Pescar
Bass Pro Shops founder and CEO Johnny Morris partnered with President George H.W. Bush to launch the Vamos a Pescar Education Fund in 2016. The Fund’s mission is to bring hands-on fishing and boating experiences, and conservation activities, to Hispanic families across the United States while also supporting national Hispanic outreach efforts from the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation.
40,000 kids and families participate in Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Days events each year. These free events are fun opportunities for families to learn about and participate in outdoor adventures, outdoor skills and wildlife conservation. People of all ages and backgrounds have the chance to try camping, canoeing, fishing, archery, rock climbing and more.
Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, a 10,000-acre nature preserve straddling the Missouri-Arkansas border, serves as a shining example of founder Johnny Morris' commitment to conserving the Ozarks region. Developed by Johnny over a 30-year period, the park is operated by a nonprofit foundation and open to the public. The pristine natural environment provides an ideal setting for an array of nature-based attractions, educational activities and wildlife sightings.
Empowering Kids Through Fishing
We’re supporting Mahogany Youth Corporation with the largest donation in the Miami-based community nonprofit’s 22-year-history to empower at-risk urban children to expand their possibilities through fishing. Last year nearly two thousand students received training in conservation, life skills, drug prevention, school success and outdoor physical activity.
